Introducing our new easy announcement bar

For our first foray into the realm of Shopify App development we decided to follow one of our internal company mantras to ‘keep it simple’.

Firstly, with it being our first app we wanted to understand the app development, submission and review process with Shopify, but we also wanted to deliver something straight away that had a practical application for our clients.

One of our missions as an agency is to 'let the retailers retail’. For example, we want to remove the hurdle of development from getting in the way as, unfortunately, changes to your website will usually need some form of development and even for simple tasks this can cost, not just money, but the time taken to get it deployed too

The last thing you want when you make a quick decision is to face a few days or a few weeks getting something actioned across your store.

For example, retailers often need to be able to add messages to their sites at short notice to inform customers about something important. This could be anything from a flash sale or a new USP you want to promote, to more serious matters regarding the ongoing impacts of Covid -19 that customers need to be informed about. How can we quickly and easily keep those customers up to date and give them the confidence they need to carry on buying?

The answer is our Easy Announcement Bar

The Easy Announcement Bar allows merchants to quickly add any message they wish to the top of their site in seconds. The bar can be formatted in any colour you choose to align with branding.

Now here’s the clever part…. We know that you won’t necessarily want every page to show the same message, so we’ve made it so the Easy Announcement Bar can appear on only certain types of pages.

So maybe you only want it to appear on the cart pages to tell customers about specific service information? Or maybe just on product pages because there’s a special flash promotion you’re running but you don’t want all over the website? Or just the homepage, a welcome message to greet new customers? 

Our Easy Announcement Bar gives you the control of what you want to say and where you want to say it.

You can layer these announcements as you wish across the site and set up multiple messages displaying in different areas and publish and unpublish at the click of a button.

The app is built to be ultra low on resource usage to have minimum impact on your site speed so you can add the Easy Announcement Bar with confidence that you’ll only get the upside.
