Oliver Crawford
Biography
A completely self taught developer, Oliver’s had a winding journey to get to his role as a Full Stack Developer. With a degree in drama and previous experience on building websites for events, it’s the sum of all these experiences that have carved out Oliver’s aptitude for building cutting edge eCommerce stores.
As a former maths teacher with journeyed experience in PHP, MERN Stack, and Javascript, there should be no doubts in Oliver's ability to code by the numbers. Outside of code, Oliver’s an avid reader and is a self proclaimed weapon behind the wheel, provided it’s in Mario Kart of course.

Surprise Shirts - Brand uplift and website development
The Surprise Shirts project is the type of thing I really look forward to as a designer. Whilst they oversaw the project, they really did let us go in the direction we thought would be best for their business, and the before and after really is something to marvel if I do say so myself. Shout out to the development team for bringing this one to life - the site looks ace.

Trivia
It was always a dream of mine to work in the heart of a big city, so Cake’s location in the jewellery quarter of Birmingham is a big boost to me. From day one I could tell that every member of staff has a wealth of experience, which makes every day super exciting and means I get the opportunity to collaborate with them and create great eCommerce sites.
I previously worked as a developer in the events industry, which required working on multiple projects simultaneously and juggling multiple builds at the same time, which is incredibly useful here at Cake.
I actually used to be a maths teacher, and whilst I don’t get the chance to teach anymore, this taught me how valuable a passion for learning is and this passion for learning serves me well not just here, but in day-to-day life too.
Seeing a project go from its barebones design to a fully fleshed out website with great functionality and aesthetics is such a rewarding experience. Whilst it is always daunting to begin with, seeing the finished product and knowing it was made by you is its own reward.
