Scoping and design process
To create a next-level website that gave &Sons everything they needed to meet their new growth and take it further, we started with collaborative workshops where we discussed and integrated:
As a design-driven brand with unmatched attention to detail, &Sons were particular about the style and quality of their new website, which needed to match the care and attention that goes into their products.
Even for a Shopify Plus ecommerce website, we wanted to go above and beyond with the new &Sons website, giving both the brand and its customers the ultimate user experience. We made this a reality in a few ways:
Telling each product’s story: User experience (UX) and ecommerce became one on individual product pages, giving each product the space to tell its own story, from sketches and details to the “full look” and care guide. Best-practise ecommerce, &Sons vibes.
Platform optimisation: It (almost) goes without saying that we made sure this next-level website was optimised across desktop and mobile, but it was slightly more challenging this time. Depending on the platform, &Sons wanted to show landscape or portrait images that captured that vibe and quality of their brand and its products. For mobile, this involved precise padding around images.
Fit indicator: While browsing specific products, people can see how it’ll fit with a small “fit indicator” that also works as a nudge towards their cart. It’s little touches like this that make a user’s journey smooth, from discovery to purchase.
Delivery countdown: Yet another small UX touch that elevates the &Sons shopping experience is the delivery countdown, letting shoppers know what time they need to order by if they’d like same-day dispatch countdown. Oh, did they miss the deadline? Well, now they’ll see a message that lets them know if they order by 3pm, they can still benefit from next-day dispatch.
Quick shop functionality: Allowing people to quickly add products to their basket without clicking through to the product page, all with a subtle animation to let them know it’s worked.
As you can tell, every page of the new &Sons website has been giving the same love, care, and attention to detail that you’d normally expect from &Sons’ products. With every stitch in place, we’ve already seen positive results.
