THE BRIEF

Cyberjammies is a British pyjama and sleepwear brand that started as a family-run business in 2002. Starting as an online only retailer, Cyberjammies have always had the mission of creating luxury nightwear for the whole family. Despite being a stalwart of the ecommerce scene, as highstreet brands began to move online, Cyberjammies realised they needed some help with their ecommerce strategy, and turned to us to help build them an industry-leading Shopify Plus store.

THE WORK

We sat down with Cyberjammies to unpack their goals and understand what they primarily wanted from their new site. One of the main considerations was striking a balance between coming across as premium and affordable, which is core to Cyberjammies business model - premium products at an affordable price. This meant building a website that felt inviting, while showcasing the quality of the products. However, when they initially reached out to us, Cyberjammies were trading on the long-outdated Magento. So, not only did their site not stand out, but it was inflexible and actively hindering their ability to grow.

After digging into the user research, we found that Cyberjammies’ perception of their customer base and the reality weren’t aligned and that their audience was more affluent than they had originally thought. This insight gave us the confidence to opt for a creative direction that was more luxurious than the team originally had in mind. Working alongside the Cyberjammies team, we created the concept of “quietly confident” which gave the visual identity that air of luxury with a self-assured level of confidence.

Tailored for the Real Audience

The next step was to apply this identity to the new Shopify plus store that we were developing. By moving from Magento to Shopify Plus, Cyberjammies were already promised a higher converting checkout and lower subscription costs, but with our expertise guiding them, we could double down on the opportunities the new platform presented. 

With a clear idea of who we were targeting and how we’d be presenting the Cyberjammies  brand, we were able to design and build a website that considered Cyberjammies’ target audience and their nuances. Additionally, the new website adheres to ecommerce UX best practices whilst breaking away from the monochrome stores that you’d typically see in this industry, which allowed Cyberjammies to really own their personality and branding.

THE OUTCOME

With the launch of their new Shopify website, Cyberjammies instantly saw the benefits of having a purpose-built theme - giving them flexibility and control. This means that they can now merchandise their site with ease, create new collections, feature products, and refine customer journeys whenever the need arises. With a Shopify 2.0 custom build, the brand can utilise the range of sections that have been specifically designed for them and their audience, whether that is changing the structure of a page or creating new ones on the fly without having to worry about code or the design.

Five years on, we're still making CRO improvements to the Cyberjammies site - a testament to the flexibility of the Cake Shopify Theme.
