THE BRIEF

304 Clothing, are a British Streetwear brand dedicated to serving their customers and building a loyal fan base. After initially approaching us for help on their site speed. We continued to work together to launch both a new website and mobile app. It’s been a 360° journey through ecommerce, one that has spanned across branding, Shopify development, and marketing.

THE WORK

Our partnership began with that aforementioned site speed audit, but quickly grew into a full ecommerce review. 

If we found one thing from this review, it was - while 304 had built a loyal following, their digital presence wasn’t keeping pace with their community. 

Namely, 304’s mobile experience, which accounted for 90% of their traffic. In fact, we estimated that slow mobile speeds were costing the brand a third of its customers.

To tackle this, we stripped back any unnecessary elements and rebuilt the existing Shopify site for performance. From compressing images and cleaning code to optimising CMS templates and creating mobile-only elements, the site was re-engineered to give 304 Clothing’s community the smooth experience they deserved.

Brand positioning

But technical performance was only one part of the picture. For 304 to thrive long-term, they needed to sharpen their brand identity and articulate what made them stand out. Where are they going? Why do they exist? How should they look and sound for their brand to resonate with like-minded people? They needed unshakeable brand foundations, so that’s what we delivered.

Together, we laid the foundations: defining their mission, vision, and values, and translating that into a clear positioning statement that captured the heart of the brand. From this, we built 304’s Brand Bible - covering everything from visual identity and design guidelines to tone of voice and content principles - giving the team tools to keep every touchpoint distinctly 304.

Shopify Plus build

With strong brand foundations in place, attention turned back to ecommerce. Just in time for Black Friday 2020, we launched 304’s new website on Shopify Plus, a fast, agile platform that could handle peak traffic while giving the team full flexibility to merchandise products and adapt landing pages in line with their fast-moving campaign - an endlessly scalable platform.

To deepen engagement with their community, we also developed a dedicated 304 mobile app. Powered by the Shopney mobile app building platform and fully integrated with their Shopify Plus site, the app put 304 Clothing right in their customers’ pockets. Push notifications and direct access to the latest drops quickly proved powerful, with the app driving loyalty, sales, and a string of 5-star reviews.

THE OUTCOME

What started as a simple site speed request grew into a long-term partnership across branding, design, development, and marketing. Together, we’ve helped 304 Clothing unlock new levels of growth and engagement, with a digital presence as strong and dynamic as the community behind it.
