Earlier this year, we announced the appointment of Andy Brown as Non-Executive Director. The new appointment follows a successful year for us as an agency, with sales increasing by 80% in the last 12 months and trebling over the last three years.
Andy will work alongside directors, Chris and Cheryl Thomas, Kirstie Smith and Luther Spicer, to provide transformative support and strategic growth planning as we focus efforts on evolving our products and services to help retailer clients.
As an agency founded by retailers, for retailers, we are proud to have more than doubled our employee headcount in the last 12 months. With over 30 years working in creative service businesses as a founder, agency head, advisor and coach, Andy has come onboard to help Cake realise its ambitious growth plans, having previously shaped the growth strategy of other category-defining agencies including Essence and agenda21.
Commenting on his new role, Andy Brown, said:
“The success of Cake has been built on a unique understanding of the rapidly evolving needs of retailers in a digital-first age. In our early discussions I was asked how we could integrate their desire to ‘do good’ into the business planning. Who wouldn’t be excited at the prospect of working with a successful, disruptive and purpose-led organisation like Cake? It’s a pleasure to be working with the leadership team.”
Chris Thomas, CEO and Founder at Cake, commented:
“This is such an exciting time for Cake, and we’re so pleased to have Andy on board to help us further strengthen the team and help take the business to the next level. The last three years have flown by and we’ve achieved so much. We’re now more ambitious than ever and we can’t wait to drive the business forward with Andy’s expertise. We’ve carved a great place for ourselves in the digital marketing sector and now it’s time to build on the foundations we’ve laid.”
